Los Angeles, CA, August 15, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Remington typewriters introduced the current QWERTY keyboard layout almost 150 years ago, to ensure that its typewriter’s mechanical arms don’t interfere with each other when hitting the paper in the same place.
Tara Chand, BEYOND QWERTY’s inventor said, ”It’s surprising that Apple, the leader in smartphone innovation is still using a 150 year-old QWERTY keyboard layout in their smart phones – while the iPhone, as a handheld device requires only one hand and a thumb to use, while the Remington typewriter required two hands and 10 fingers for use as a desktop typing device.”
"When I studied how people use their iPhone while typing, I became convinced for the need of a better, more efficient way to type on a smartphone using one finger or thumb with one-hand, which lead me to design the BEYOND QWERTY key space layout for use in smart phones from the ground-up."

Mr Chand continued, “When I studied how people use their iPhone while typing, I became convinced for the need of a better, more efficient way to type on a smartphone using one finger or thumb with one-hand, which lead me to design the BEYOND QWERTY key space layout for use in smart phones from the ground-up.”
BEYOND QWERTY provides the first leap forward in smartphone typing technology, and is designed for user convenience and maximum efficiency of one-handed typing on a smartphone.
Apple needs to incorporate the new BEYOND QUERTY intelligent key space layout into their iPhones; BEYOND QWERTY has been intelligently designed from the ground-up, to maximize efficient key space placement for handheld smartphones.
BEYOND QWERTY features an innovative key space layout, which creates four contiguous typing spaces. In each of the four typing spaces, keys are organized for user convenience and maximum typing efficiency. In the typing space at the top and middle are vowels and the most used consonants, while the bottom features less used consonants.
Mr. Chand noted, “He is looking to grant licenses to Apple and the smarphone industry for BEYOND QWERTY’s innovative technology, to help accelerate the immediate adoption of BEYOND QWERTY as the new standard keyboard layout for any smartphone operating system sold in the U.S.”
